The mechanism of the drug is to inhibit the glucose absorption of worm. Unpaired the phosphorylation process in the mitochondria then block the TCA cycle, resulting in accumulation of lactic acid and thus killing worms. It is hard to absorb from gastro-intestinal tract and maintains high leave in the intestine. A small part are metabolized into inactive form and excreted from feces. Levamisole hydrochloride is against most nematodes in dogs. The mechanism is exciting the sympathetic and para-sympathetic nervous system of worm. It is nicotine –like effect, blocking fumarate reduction and succinate oxidation reaction at high concentrations. Interfering nematode glucose metabolism, eventually paralyzing worm then excreting the bodies. Administration and Dosage: Oral, 100mg of Niclosamide /kg body weight, take with a little food or when the stomach is empty. Or follow the veterinarian’s instruction. Adverse reactions: Intestines and stomach function disorder such as vomiting or diarrhea may occur.
